A pair of Samson of Paris armorial baluster vases and covers 19th century, painted in famille rose enamels with the arms of the Howard family and the motto 'Sola Virtus Invicta', the domed covers with pointed finials, the vases and covers with reticulated panels, iron red pseudo seal marks to base, 17¾ inches high (45cm), one lid broken. (2)

* Cover of one of the vases has been thoroughly smashed. The pieces have been retained. General wear, dirt and rubbing commensurate with age. Chip to underside of the other vase cover. Sporadic minor firing cracks to bases. Significant chip/loss to one of the bases that has been rather clumsily reattached. Odd nibble to rims. For further information please refer to department.
