Kate Faulkner for Morris and Co., an Arts and Crafts painted plate, 1879, on Minton blank, decorated with stylised blue roses on a foliate scroll and floral rosette ground, within yellow and blue bead border, the reverse with incised foliate frond and scroll design, impressed marks, painted monogram and date, 26cm diameter Note: sister of Charles Faulkner, the original founder of William Morris' company Morris, Marshall and Faulkner, Kate is known to have been a ceramic and textile designer for the company. Prior to these two examples at Kinghams, only one other plate by Kate Faulkner is known, currently in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
