A 10 BORE PERCUSSION CARBINE made for the East India Company, it is fitted with a 26'' smooth bore barrel at the front of which is a hinged steel ramrod, it's lock is in working order and bears the Rampant Lion mark used by the company, this is a variant of their basic type 2 Victoria carbine issued between 1843 and 1847, it has a patch box fitted in the stock and has sling swivels fitted to the lower edge of the butt and via bolt through the forend, there are some small cracks visible in the stock by the lock retaining bolt and although it has lost all it's original finish to it's metal it is in reasonable overall condition
