- Exceptionally nicely built bike

The Rickman brothers - Don and Derek - were already established moto-cross stars when they built the first Metisse machine in 1959, and within a decade the Rickman company would grow to become one of the biggest and best-known independent motorcycle frame-makers. The Rickman brothers designed the Metisse frame, which was known for its nickel-plated finish and fiberglass bodywork. The bike could be fitted with a variety of engines from different British motorcycle manufacturers, as a model it gained fame for being associated with Hollywood actor and racer Steve McQueen. The firm manufactured motorcycles from 1960 until 1975

This 1973 Triumph Rickman Metisse is powered by a 500cc 1950 Triumph “Grand Prix” pre unit engine (number TR5 4910 N), mounted in a nickel-plated frame, with Ceriani forks, an AMC gearbox and clutch, K2F Lucas competition magneto, Royal Enfield chain case, Takasago Excel rims with a Rickman rear hub, road-going chrome exhaust, Smith’s chronometric rev. counter and smaller speedo.

Offered with a current V5C, this beautiful scrambler is ready to live out your Steve McQueen dreams!
