The 8" arched brass dial with gilt rococo spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted centre with calendar aperture, the foliate engraved arch having subsidiary Strike/Silent and Chime/Silent dials below a signed cartouche and arched music selection dial inscribed "Cottillion, Aria, Minuet, Canlone, Conterdanza, Minuet" fronting a substantial eight-day movement with four fusee barrels and original verge escapement chiming the quarters on six hammers and chiming one of six tunes on the hour on 23 hammers and 12 bells, rear mounted 7" pin barrel fixed to the signed foliate engraved backplate (68cm high)
