A GROUP OF CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK AND GAUZE CHILDREN'S ROBES, EARLY-LATE 20TH CENTURY. Comprising: an early 20th century orange silk robe with embroidered ivory silk collar, a cream silk gauze summer robe embroidered in blue tones with flowerheads, leaves and interlocking hexagons, a late 20th century pale green robe embroidered with large flower-sprays, within purple flower trim, a pink silk robe with bold flowers in silver and coloured threads, a red example with flowers in silver and gold thread, a dark blue silk robe with machine woven flower-sprays and a black silk robe embroidered with roundels of cranes below waves, with red and silver thread tassels (7)
Orange robe with some areas of wear around collar, lining and sleeves, including a loose striped ribbon at one cuff.
Gauze robe - with some minor staining and discolouration overall, both sleeves with small tear at fabric join, typical wear.
Black example - some minor staining to pink lining, damage and pulling to black toggles, some wear overall.
Red example - red silk tie at side is threadbare, thread at shoulder has pulled loose and with further smaller areas of loose and pulled metallic thread, slight tear to underarm.
Overall there is some typical wear and small areas of pulled/loose threads.
