WW2 Distinguished Flying Medal, Polish Medal of Military Virtue (Virtuti Militari), Polish Cross of Valour with 3 bars, 1939-1945, Air Crew Europe Stars, Defence Medal, and BWM to P.793024 Sgt J. Platacz (only DFM is named, rest un-named as issued) good very fine to extremely fine.
With Observer & Air Gunner's Log Book, first flight 9/5/41, first mission with 300 Sqn flying Wellingtons to Essen 9/3/42, and completed his 30th mission and tour 12/8/42 to Mainz. The last entry is 17/6/48.
Sold with Virtuti Militari scroll of issue dated 13/8/42 named to Kpr.s.sam Platacza Jozefa in tube, good range of original Polish documents and passes (a number with photos), includes P.A.F. Carnet De Solde starting 1/3/40, Combattants Volontaires, Army of Poland in France ID 5/2/40, Virtuti Militari ID 26/7/45, RAF Certificate of Discharge effective 9/1/49, UK Certificate of Naturalisation 20/10/49 etc.
Also with various ribbon bars, Poland cloth shoulder titles, Observer's badge by Spink, RAF button (probably an escape compass within, but unable to open), large scroll photo of 300 Sqn Sept 1945, RAF notebook, few coins etc. Tavender's book on the DFM confirms the award of the DFM and is 1 of 66 DFMs to Polish aircrew.
