Essex interest - British MkII steel helmet used on the Home Front at the Bata shoe factory, East Tilbury. Liner stamped Vero 1938. With unusual leather chinstrap and early oval liner pad. Labelled Bata CD (Civil Defence) and no.24 (warden post no.24?)
