S.S "Cairo". 1906 (Mar 1) Cover from London to Egypt franked 1d strip of three, "T" postage due handstamp of London, handstamped violet "SAUVE DU NAUFRAGE DU "CAIRO" / SAVED FROM THE WRECK OF S.S "CAIRO"", Alexandria backstamp (Mar 7), central vertical fold and a few edge faults. The "Cairo" ran ashore at the entrance to the port of Alexandria on March 6th, cargo and mails being swept into the sea.
