Sword - a 1796 Pattern Cavalry Officers Sword, curved blade 32.5" approx with hatchet point. Top of blade with simple engraving including large bird with long curled tail, star device, kings head with moustache, moon devices: crescent moon face, crossed sabres & bow: Star with rays etc. Engravings good and clear, some surface rust patches. Stirrup hilt with 2 shield shaped langets. Polished wirebound leather & wooden ribbed grip (5x old woodworm holes).
