A VICTORIAN 1822 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD with slightly curved steel blade etched on both sides with crowned 'VR' cypher, signed 'H. HART, PALL MALL. LONDON' brass hinged hilt incorporating crowned 'VR', wire bound shagreen handle in steel scabbard, and separate leather scabbard - Provenance. The sword belonged to William Cumming, Captain then Major to Honorary Colonel who fought in the Crimean War (100cm overall)
