Victorian book with ink sketch illustrations and verse written by Jane Frith and given as a gift to her friend Caroline Emily Shephard (nee Layard) who was the wife of the Reverend Canon John Shephard, then vicar of Eton Parish Church. The book cover has a painted vignette of Eton Parish Church and also a poker work to the reverse, the interior pages have sketches in ink of the church, font and window as well as selected verses chosen to support her friend who had just lost her first baby son circa 1868.
