Portrait of Henry Barrett Moulton-Barrett (1818-1896) seated holding a walking cane, oil on canvas, indistinctly inscribed Bradnes(?) Torquay 90 x 70cms
Henry was a younger brother of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and as a child tutored by her in Latin. In 1860 he married Amelia Yeaman Morris nee Holland and died at Arcott, Sidmouth.

Also included with this lot is the Bible in red morocco binding that she is holding (The Holy Bible, pub'd at the Clarendon Press, Oxford 1808) (3)
Cleaned, reframed and relined. Small damages to frames, pictures in good condition but evidence of damp on reverse of canvas. Same comments for both
