Benjamin James, London an oak longcase clock the eight-day duration, five-pillar movement striking the hours on a bell with the twelve-inch brass break-arch dial having a raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, fleur-de-lys half-hour markings and Arabic five-minute outer numerals, the matted centre with ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds dial and decorative engraving to the date aperture, with cast-brass crown and cherub spandrels to the four corners, the arch with a silvered boss engraved with the maker's name Benjamin James, London, the oak case with break-arch top to the trunk door and fluted pillars to the hood, height 220cm.
