Two antique hand coloured chromolithographs of hunting scenes, by English artist and engraver Henry Thomas Alken the first titled "Fox Hunting: Going into Cover," along with "Fox Hunting: Breaking Cover." Both nicely rendered with lovely detail in the musculature of the horses and nice hand touched highlight in the horses eyes and rider's spurs. Housed in matching black and gilt frames.
Henry Thomas Alken was an English painter and engraver chiefly known as a caricaturist and illustrator of sporting subjects and coaching scenes. His most prolific period of painting and drawing occurred between 1816 and 1831.
