Obverse: crowned head the Queen facing right, small initials 'IRB' below for the engraver, Ian Rank-Broadley, denomination below in words ('FIFTY PENCE') and legend that reads 'ELIZABETH · II · D · G · REG · F · D'. Reverse: tall pagoda building associated with the Royal Botanical gardens at Kew, with a vine encircling from the base to the top. Date 1759 to the left and 2009 to the right.
