An Italian crewel work panel in the Florentine manner, 19th century, finely worked with tessellating shapes in jewel colours, framed and glazed, 79cm x 77cm overall
The panel colours are clean and relatively bright, but are likely to have faded somewhat over time. The frame shows extensive wear to the gilt finish, some open grain and some losses to the moulded detail.
