NAPOLEONIC WARS AFTERMATH - HANOVER/G.B. - "BRITISH PENSIONERS" FREE MAIL COVERS & DOCUMENT; 1828/52 partly printed ELs (4) from Hanover to various German towns with "HANNOVER" marks (2 s. lines, 1839 boxed d.s. & 1852 cds) all sent free due to the printed "British Pensioners Pay Office" or "British/Pay-Office" on the front (this was the free mail system for those who had fought in the Allied forces - both German & British - at Waterloo), concerning payments due to Chelsea pensioners in Germany; plus 1841/7 pair of printed circulars from the Hanover "British Pay Office" about rules for pension payments.
