Star Lot: A magnificent original Ann Dunphy (Irish, contemporary) ink and watercolour on paper painting titled "Dungarvan Pier" dating to 2000. Features a dynamic scene of fishing boats rendered in energetic and gestural brushstrokes in a contrasting palette of yellows, reds and greens. Signed and dated bottom right and housed in a white wooden frame. Dunphy is a well renowned Irish artist with a strong auction history, her works fetching up to €1,800 at Morgan O'Driscoll.

Ann Dunphy graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art from Crawford College of Art & Design and an MA in Fine Art from UWIC Wales. While still a student in Crawford, Ann Dunphy's outstanding talent was already recognized and she won many important awards. She has exhibited at the Lavit, and Áras Mac Leinn UCC, Clotsworthy Art Centre, Co Antrim, and regularly at the Catmose Gallery Oakham, Welsh Millenium Centre Cardiff, Howard Gardens Cardiff. Dunphy enjoys the distinction of being selected as a finalist by Adrienne Dunne in the RDS Taylor Award. Her solo exhibitions in the Old Market House in Dungarvan and in the Waterford Crystal Showrooms in Waterford were spectacular successes, and her work forms part of the OPW, Cork Opera House, WCC, corporate and important private collections.
