A good black silk fan from Burma, c 1880’s, colourfully painted with figures and elephants, the focal point being King Thibaw Min, last King of Burma, with is principal consort Supaya Lat, edged with black machine lace, mounted on sturdy tortoiseshell sticks, guard approx. 33cm; together with another Burmese fan, painted on paper with figures undertaking various tasks, the verso painted with a princess and her attendants, the simple monture of light wood, guard length approx. 32cm (2)

The first fan is in good order, the second lacks a gorge stick.
