1863 Queen Victoria bronze 'Bun Head' Penny with rare open 3 to date (S 3954). Obverse: type 6 laureate bust of Victoria, facing left with 'VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:' around. Reverse: type G seated Britannia holding a trident, palm fronds and a convex shield with 'ONE PENNY' around. The date (1863) shows a variation to the '3' where the tail is shaped differently: a variation that is not listed in Spink. Edge: plain. Weight: 9.34g. Diameter: 30.7mm. Mintage: 28,063,000 (total annual). Grade: F - Fine.
