Three fans, the first late 19th century, wood sticks painted black and mounted with a fabric leaf of paisley pattern, some gold metal threads in the weave, backed in black silk; a slightly later black wood fan mounted with a silk leaf, painted with a courting couple, a chaperone to the side, the reserves painted and applied with tiny coloured sequins; and a smaller fan of black wood, c 1910, clouté with steel, the leaf a double layer of cotton gauze, liberally embroidered with tiny silver sequins and spangles in a wheatsheaf design with additional swags (3)
The backing on the fabric fan is splitting, the recto unaffected.
