Kings Royal Rifle Corps Victorian Militia Officer Home Service Pattern Helmet. A scarce example of the green cloth home service pattern helmet, to the front a crowned Maltese cross plate with the title THE KINGS ROYAL RIFLE CORPS. Complete with blacked silver furniture including gimp velvet backed chin chain. The interior with leather sweatband, this with silk edging. The helmet retains a good shape, but now with some moth damage to the rear peak and a small hole to the front peak. Worn by 5th Bn (late Huntingdon Militia Rifles), 6th (late Royal Flint Rifles disbanded 1889), 7th (late 2nd Middlesex Royal Edmonton Militia), 8th (late Carlow Rifles Militia) and 9th (late North Cork Militia Rifles) Battalions KRRC.
