A cigarette box with 9ct gold mounts, Birmingham marks (1905, Horton & Allday), the lid with small plaque engraved with an indistinct cipher and enamelled border reading "From the Octogan 1905"
Box measures approximately 20.5cm long x 10cm deep x 6cm high.
To the front, there is an area that has been worn away with apparent scratching. There are dents to the box's lid. Corners are bumped and worn. Gold mounts are good condition, with nice crisp hallmarks. Internally, there is wear and discolouration. The base of the box at one time had a layer of material (likely leather) applied with adhesive - this is mostly worn away. Overall inconsistency in the finish.
