A small and dainty early 20th century fan, the monture of white mother of pearl, shaped tips to the guards, the cream gauze leaf painted with a pink flower in each fold, outlined with a gold thread, the upper leaf edge cut into points to mirror the guards, and bordered with silver sequins, more being embroidered below, guard approx. 19cm; together with a small white feather fan, applied with gold paint and some small portraits of an 18th century lady in pink bodice and large blue hat, the simple sticks of wood painted white: and a larger earlier 20th century fan, the monture of bone, shaped, gilded and silvered, the velum leaf with a central cartouche of regency ladies receiving a male visitor, one lady holding an open fan, vignettes to each side with tokens of love and fashion accessories of a parasol and open fan, most areas embroidered with gold sequins, fitted with a large cream knotted silk tassel, guard approx. 24 cm (3)
The first fan is in crisp, clean condition. Fan 2 is a little crumpled and in a used condition. The final fan is in good order.
