Samuel Leonardus Verveer (Dutch, 1813-1876), Dutch Winter Landscape, oil on a chamfered panel made up of three irregular planks, signed lower right, modern reproduction Dutch ripple frame, 22 x 27½in. (55.8 x 69.8cm.).
*Condition: In good condition overall - has been cleaned and restored. Scattered retouches visible across the surface under UV, with heavier retouches and repainting around the sky to the upper left. When the picture was cleaned and restored at some stage, a blocking varnish was used. A scattering of old worm holes visible to the panel verso. Probable restoration to a horizontal split to the panel towards the lower edge.
