A FIRST WORLD WAR LONG SERVICE PAIR TO H.M.S HIGHFLYER. A pair comprising War Medal named to 292695 R.J. Davey STO R.N. and George V R.N. Long Service and Good Conduct Medal named to 292695R.J. Davey STO 1 Cl H.M.S. Highflyer. Richard John Davey was born at Torquay on the 4th July 1880. He joined the Royal Navy at Devonport on the 3rd July 1899. He was recalled for the First World War and survived the torpedoing of H.M.S. Goliath in Morto Bay in the Dardanelles on the 13th May 1915 when 517 men were lost and 180 survived. Mounted for display with copied research.
