(St. Augustine's Grange in Ramsgate (also known as 'The Grange') was designed by Augustus Pugin and was his home from 1844 until his death in 1852. The Birmingham metal manufacturers John Hardman & Co. enjoyed a close association with Pugin from 1837, when John Hardman Jr. (1811-1867) and Pugin first met and discovered they shared similar religious beliefs and enthusiasm for the medieval spirit and expression.)
