Revolver, a good Colt .36 Calibre Model 1851 Navy Revolver. S/N 128928 (matching) which dates it to 1862. Large iron trigger guard & backstrap. Octagonal barrel 7.5" inches. British view and proof marks on barrel section ahead of the wedge. Six shot cylinder with good Naval scene. Excellent one piece walnut grips with original varnish. Three screw frame. Crisp action on 1st and 2nd cock. Good tight lock up. 6 shot cylinder with British Proof Marks and Colts Patent No 8929. "Colts Patent" to frame. The serial number has a small "E" below it. This signifies exported to England. Barrel bears single line address "Address Col. Saml Colt New York. US America". Pleasing dark patina overall. The Serial Number range 128000 to 129000 carry a number of arms for the Australian States, some are marked EG NSW Police. This one is not. A good example of a popular collectors piece.
