Unusual French gold eight day verge pocket watch, by Le Mesurier a Paris, white enamelled dial, signed and with Arabic five minute divisions, gold hands, polished plain consular case with maker's mark CR, the movement with foliate engraved back plate, small pierced and engraved bridge cock, an extra wheel in going train to give eight days duration, with a verge escapement, and numbered 5645, 44mm diameter
Provenance: Messrs Christie's 'The Albert Odmark Collection of Important Clocks and Watches' 11th March 2005. Lot 174, Price realised £1,440.

Very light, minor dents to the back cover, barely noticeable. Minor surface scratches consistent with age. Chips to the enamel around the winding hole. The watch ticks when wound. Overall a nice example and with good provenance.
