A Chinese Canton (Guangzhou) famille rose decorated bough pot and cover, c.1830, painted with reserves of mandarin figures, birds and flowers, on a gilt ground modelled with squirrels and fruiting vines, applied with a pair of gilt rope twist handles, the dome cover with five circular apertures, 22cm high, wear to gilding
Typical minor glaze imperfections, there is wear to the gilding all over in particular the handles. There is a small firing crack on the inside edge of the rim/flange for the cover, otherwise in good condition. No restoration, chips or cracks detected.
