A Georgian mahogany and oak cased 8-day striking longcase clock by William Hewson of Lincoln, the hood with swan neck pediment and brass ball finials, above a hand-painted dial with date aperture and shell spandrels, flanked by reeded pilasters, the trunk with shell marquetry inlay, on a plinth base. Dial measures 12”. Total height 6’7” (200cm) (a/f).
H200cm W46cm D23cm (approx).
Condition report: Old repair to pediment. Finials are loose. Glass missing. Some crazing and paint loss to dial. Some veneer loss to crossbanded inlay. Feet have been cut down. Includes brass bound pendulum and both weights.
