Oxenham (John) and Toplis (William) An exceptionally rare matched pair of The Book of Sark and The Centenary Book of Sark, both volumes numbered 75 of 500. The original 1908 copy is signed by the author and artist, and the Centenary edition is signed by the author's great grand daughter, Fiona J. Toplis. The copy no. 75 of the 1908 edition has been renovated, including new silk ties, replacement archival quality backing paper for the prints, straightening of the boards and text materials, and the whole re-hand sewn and bound into the original vellum cover. Both editions bound in gilt tooled vellum and presented in solander boxes with gilt leather label, accompanied by number 75 of the book ‘Art for the Love of Sark’, signed by local artist and contributor Rosanne Guille, also the president and past president of the artists for Nature Foundation who oranised the project and with a unique original drawing and signature by Harriet Mead president of the UK Society of Wildlife Artists, complete with CD and slip case.(3) * A rare trio of Channel Island Sark books, viewing highly recommended.
