An Art Deco precious opal and diamond brooch, the central cabochon opal (weight estimated 5.60 carats) set within a yellow metal rubover setting, with two white metal geometric shaped terminals with old cut diamonds set within, hinge pin fastening to reverse, length 4.5cm, total diamond weight estimate 1.80 carats, with GCS certificate stating the precious opal with play of colour and no indications of treatment, measurements 12.3 x 18.6 x 3.9mm, within associated 'Mappin & Webb' fitted case

Milgrain edge is worn on one side, possibly has been re-done to other side.
Diamonds are well matched in colour, with inclusions visible with x10 loupe.
Hinge pin possibly a later addition.
Claws are low to a few of the diamonds.
Opal is in good condition with no major scratches or blemishes.
Minor discolouration and signs of wear seen to yellow metal.
Possible join/repair seen to yellow mount rubover mount.
