Unlisted Nero denarius. A silver denarius of Nero, as Caesar, having an apparently unpublished combination of obverse and reverse. Obv. Youthful bust of Nero, bare-headed and draped right. NERONI CLAVDIO DRVSO GERM COS DESIGN. Rev. On left, simpulum above tripod; on right, lituus above patera. SACERD COOPT IN OMN CONL SVPRA NVM EX SC. 18mm, 2.49g. The relatively light weight could be due to the worn state of the coin or could possibly be indicative of a fouree, though it does not appear to be plated. Cf. RIC I 79 (Claudius) for the obverse and RIC I 77 (Claudius) for the reverse.
