A worksplate, PECKETT, 1682, 1925, from a standard gauge 0-4-0 saddle tank, new in April 1925 to the Oxford Gas Light & Coke Company. Overhauled by Peckett in 1936 and passed to the Southern Gas Board on nationalisation in 1949. Repaired again by Peckett in 1954 and scrapped in 1960 when the gas works closed. Engraved brass, 12"x8½", the front lightly polished, with much of the original red wax infill. (Postage Band: C)
