A good private purchase pistol bore (.56") Baker flintlock rifle, by Ezekiel Baker, probably made to special order for an officer, 45½" overall, barrel 30¼", with deep 7 groove rifling, dove tailed block rearsight and brass fore sight, bayonet bar and false breech, the breech with Tower private proofs and signed "E. Baker"; signed flat stepped lock with safety bolt, semi rainproof pan, and roller on frizzen spring, the lock plate with interesting feature of two holes to facilitate dismantling the action without the need of a spring clamp; walnut fullstock with full length rammer slit and cheekpiece on the butt; standard pattern brass mounts including 1805 pattern rounded butt trap cover with single compartment containing a double ended turnscrew and bar for fitting into the lock dismantling holes; with sling swivels and standard pattern steel ramrod.
