China; two little part covers (?) on flimsy paper, each with a label addressed to "J Segerdel Esq/I.C. Customs/Foochou", these labels tied by violet cachet with four characters (possible translation is two Japanese = post, two Mandarin = bag/sack). Probably mid-late 19th Century, otherwise no further identification. Estimate deliberately vague.
