British Victorian 1871 Pattern Cavalry Helmet. Brass skull with 5th Princess Charlotte of Wales Dragoon Guards regimental helmet plate to front with hobnail pattern star. Helmet has brass cross base and fluted plume holder which houses a falling red/white horse hair plume. Rosette to top of holder. Brass rosettes which hold the chin chain backed with black velvet. Underside of peak has remains of a thin leather covering. Rear brim is leather covered. No liner or liner band.
Skull has usual service wear with no splits to the brass. No liner or liner band. Some nuts replaced see photos.
