A CHINESE CELADON JADE "RUYI" BRUSH WASHER, QING DYNASTY, LATE 19TH CENTURY
Carved in the form of a Ruyi, the top surmounted by a boy, the base adorned with a bat, the interior carved in low relief with foliate sprays issuing a single blossom, the reverse with a gnarled branch issuing six Ruyi heads amongst shaped leaves, the pale celadon stone with minor russet inclusions, wear commensurate with age, tiny rim chips
