A good Japanese bronze Elephant, Meiji period (1868 - 1912) signed, standing on its hind legs aloft a sphere, with inset ivory tusks, mounted on a naturalistic hardwood base, approx. 35cms (14") high overall; together with a 19th Century carved and painted wooden Children's Toy, modelled as an Elephant, with leather pinned ears, and plain paint work, worn, (possibly had wheels) rare, approx. 28cms (4") high.
