Lunt Roberts (b1894-d.1981) Political Golfing Caricature Figure with a back pocket full of Speeches - signed to the lower right hand corner - images 16.5" x 11.5" - overall 19.75 x 154" - with handwritten note on reverse "Royal Mid Surrey". Note: Roberts first attended the London Sketch Club, which he would later be president of, in 1913, between then and 1964 was active as an illustrator. Lunt Roberts became a prolific illustrator who provided pictures for books by many authors, including Malcolm Saville's 'Mike and Mary' series. Active in the period 1913-1964, his work appeared in Punch, The Humourist and The Daily Mail Annual, among others. As a comic artist, his work included 'Robin Hood' in The Knock-Out Comic (1949) and 'Mr Pastry' in TV Comic (1951).
