CARLTON CRESTED/HERALDIC PORCELAIN PILLAR BOX MODELS - GREAT BRITAIN: A remarkable collection of attractive items each decorated with the armorial crest of a town or city on top (England (53), Wales (3), Scotland (2), Edmonton (1), Austria (1), Arms of KEVII (1)) with rim and some details picked out in gilt and whimsical message "if you haven't time to post a line here's the pillar box" added on one side of most. All 7cm tall, majority (49) bearing KGV cypher, a few (5) bearing KEVII cypher and a few more (7) with crest and message only. Also model of doctor's bag with St Cross Hospital crest. Carlton were a major manufacturer of British crested china 1900s-1920s. Excellent condition. EXTREMELY FRAGILE SO COLLECTION RECOMMENDED. (61)
