Three: 1914-15 star, BWM, Victory (G 3568 Pte A J Etheridge R. Suss. R), GVF. Note: Albert James Etheridge of the 9th Battalion, landed in France 31.8.1915 and was with the Battalion when they attacked Messines Ridge. On 7th June his Battn assembled near Chateau Segard near Dickerbusch. At 3.10pm the troops deployed under a British barrage and the objective was complete at a cost of 40 casualties. Etheridge was wounded but later died at the 4th London Field Ambulance. The 30 year old former Butler from Haywards Heath was buried at Battery Corner Cemetery Near Ypres. £80-120
