A Chinese blue and white shipwreck meiping, Ming dynasty, 16th century, the central band painted with lotus flowers, scrolling leaves and tendrils, the lower register with lappets and scrolls and the upper register with flowers and leaves in ruyi-shaped reserves, burnt orange unglazed base, 25cm high, etching and crazing to glaze
There is etching and fine crazing to the glaze all over. There are small splinter chips to the rim and to the edge of the foot and typical scattered tiny unglazed patches, otherwise in reasonable condition.
