A large Chinese bronze twin-handled tripod censer on stand, Qing Dynasty. Of compressed globular form and applied with two upright rope-twist handles to the rim, Xuande six-character mark, on a carved wood stand. height of censer including handles 20.5cm, height to top rim 15cm, body width 27cm, width of top rim 25cm, height of stand 6.5cm, weight 7000 grams. Provenance: The Michael J. Hickman Collection. Bought in Cornwall from the early 1970's to early 1980's.
