The yellow ground with reserves of gilded birds and floral sprays. 17cms wide
The base or lower part of the box has been broken through one side and visibly repaired. The inner rim at the rear of the box with multiple chips and losses (approximately 11cm of loss on the rim with one or two more minor chips). Gilded decoration generally good but with some rubbing. The underside with scratches and wear consistent with age.
