Thomas Gaspey (1788-1871), 'The History of England; from the text of Hume and Smollett, continued to the present time by Thomas Gaspey Esq', a complete set of eight volumes including vol 1 55-1562, vol 2 1562-1689, vol 3 1689-1757, vol 4 1757-1760, vol 1 1760-1792, vol 2 1792-1812, vol 3 1806-1837 and vol 4 1837-1852, published by the London Printing and Publishing Company circa 1860, etched line engravings and maps throughout published by J and F Tallis, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, hardcover, leather bound superb bindings, five compartments and four ribs to spines, with brightly tooled gilt details and gilt lettering, blue marbled end papers and paste downs, marbled blue trimmed edges, some light, sporadic foxing and age related discolouration, but overall no loose pages and in good condition, 11" x 3", eight volumes total
