An 18th century longcase clock by Christopher Biggin of Wisbich, the brass clock face having pieced decorative spandrels. the arch with silver name plate engraved Biggin of Wisbich, the silvered chapter ring bordering the subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, the impressive chinoiserie black lacquered case having a long trunk door depicting figures in landscape, with pendulum, weights and key, 231cm high. Provenance: The selection of clocks within this auction comes from a local private deceased estate who began collecting around 30 to 35 years ago. During the time the clocks have been within their possession they have been well looked after and maintained and serviced by either the vendor or Robert Loomes.
