WW1 US M1917 Steel Helmet. Three holes have been drilled to each side of the rim to allow fitment of a steel face sheild. Heat Treatment Lot number Z869 stamped to underside of rim. Chinstrap secured by a single domed rivit. Liner marked size 7 1/4. Ink written "R Warks Rgt Capt Halls" to chinstrap.
